Preparing For Your Eyelash Extension Appointment in Vancouver

You’ve taken the plunge and decided to get your eyelashes done. Now what? Here are some tips to help your lash appointment go smoothly.

1. Clean Your Face
Remove any makeup around the eye area. That means you need to remove mascara, eyeliner, and eye shadow before-hand. If you don’t have time, your eyelash technician will be able to remove it but note that it can be time-consuming and will take away from your lash extension application time.

It is recommended to avoid exposure to water, sweat and steam 24 hours after getting lashes done, so you might want to wash your hair beforehand as well. If not, dry shampoo (we won’t tell anyone)!

2. Remove Contact Lenses
If you wear contact lenses, please bring a case and saline solution to your appointment. You will be required to take them off before the lashes are applied. Once we’re done applying your eyelash extensions, you can put your contact lenses back in.

If you wear glasses from time to time, let me know! I want to ensure that if we add quite a bit of length it won’t get annoying rubbing on the glass.

3. Dress For Comfort
Your eyelash extension appointment in Vancouver takes 2-3 hours and is a chance for quality “you-time”. Bring clothes that are comfortable for you to lie down. I have a blanket in case you get cold, but you may choose to wear an extra sweater. Also, remove any large or heavy jewelry to ensure maximum comfort.

4. Bring Music
Bring your phone/headphones so that you can listen to music while you’re getting your eyelash extensions applied. This can help you stay relaxed, and who knows you might even drift into a beauty nap.

5. Silence Cell Phones
You will have to keep your eyes closed during the entirety of the eyelash extension appointment. Your phone buzzing or ringing will not help you stay relaxed and enjoy the “you-time” you deserve.

Last but not least, it helps if you are ready few minutes early for your appointment, which allows us to spend more time on the consultation!
