Getting a Yumi Lash Lift in Vancouver

There are a few options available nowadays when it comes to lash enhancement. Are you going to get extensions, are you going to get a lash lift? If you opt for a lash lift in Vancouver, which one are you going to get done?

In this post, I’ll explain what a Yumi Lash lift is and what you can expect.

More on Yumi Lash Lift in Vancouver

The name Yumi is of Japanese origin, with a few meanings centering around the general meaning of “beauty”, so very fitting for a company in the lash industry! The first product was launched in 2008 and became popular in 2012, though Yumi Lash Lifts weren’t available in Canada until 2016. It is now a service that is available in about sixty countries around the world, and a staple name in the lash industry due to the products’ quality.

The Yumi Lash Lift products are infused with Keratin. As you may already know from taking care of your hair, keratin helps smooth down your hair strand’s overlapping cells. The cells absorb the keratin, resulting in fuller and glossier looking hair in addition to being less frizzy, easier to style, and straighter. It works the same for lashes!

What is a lash lift

Put very simply, what we call a lash lift in Vancouver is the process of getting your lashes curled back using products that will help the lashes keep their new found curl for 6-8 weeks.

You may hear some refer to it as a “perm for your lashes”.

What to expect from a Yumi Lash Lift in Vancouver

The process of getting a Yumi Lash Lift with Eye Love Lashes Yvr can take up to1h-1.5h, plus a few minutes for the consultation.

Step 1: a hydrating under-eye pad is applied to keep your bottom lashes out of the way, and the curling shield is applied to your closed lids

Step 2: your lashes are carefully and methodically curled back onto the shield and held in place by a water-soluble adhesive

Step 3: the first solution is applied to your lashes. This is where the bonds of your lashes are “broken”, allowing for the keratin to take a new shape (ie the shape of the curling shield). Don’t worry, a Yumi Lash Lift will not damage your lashes if it is done properly

Step 4: the first solution is removed, and the second solution (a neutralizer) is applied to your lashes. This reverses the effect of the first solution and allows the keratin to fuse back together, taking the shape of the curling shield

Step 5: the second solution is removed. The lash tint is mixed and applied to your lashes

Step 6: the tint is removed and the nourishing & conditioning oil is applied to your lashes

Step 7: the curling shield is removed from your eyelids, the under-eye pads are removed, and voila! You can now enjoy beautifully curled and darkened lashes for weeks

What to expect after a Yumi Lash Lift

Most people have a good set of natural lashes already, but they often don’t think so because their lashes usually grow down or straight. If your Yumi lash lift is done by a trained and certified lash artist in Vancouver, you can expect great results and no damage to your natural lashes. Once your lashes are individually curled back and tinted, they will look longer, darker and thicker. The nourishing oil applied at the end will give them a bit of a “wet” look, but you will be able to brush your lashes out shortly after.

It is important that you follow the lash lift after care steps in order to ensure that your Yumi Lash Lift & Tint keeps its curl. In time, your lashes will shed as normal and new lashes will grow, some of your curled lashes will lose their curl as they grow out. This is why it is recommended that you book your next Yumi Lash Lift & Tint every 6-8 weeks.
